Breaking News: Rodney King found dead: LA Police
17-June-2012-(Berberanews)-Rodney King – the man who was at the center of the infamous Los Angeles riots — was found dead this morning in Rialito, CA. He was 47.
Mr. King who was videotaped two decades ago by a bystander as Los Angeles police officers severely beat him during an arrest was found lifeless by his fiancée, Cynthia Kelly at the bottom of a pool in Rialto, California, at about 5:25 a.m. PST, said Capt. Randy DeAnda.
In March 1991, King was infamously kicked and hit 56 times with police batons and tasered.
Horrific images of King being beaten by four Los Angeles policemen helped incite six days of fires and looting throughout the city that led to 53 deaths and an estimated $1-billion in property damage.
Police attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after 6 a.m. PST, added Capt. DeAnda.
